Born in Guadalcazar, San Luis Potosà Mexico to Francisco Castro and Soledad Castro (Torres) on May 4, 1929 and entered eternal rest on November 3, 2017 at the age of 88 in Palm Desert, California surrounded by his loved ones. He was raised in Poblado Anahuac, Tamaulipas Mexico with his siblings, Xixta Treviño (†), Miguel Castro MD (†) Matilde Moreno (†), Cornelio Castro (†), Francisca Peña of Brownsville, Texas, Juanita Cabrera of Brownsville, Texas, and Antonio (Toñito) Castro (†). Jose Silviano married Santos Garza De Castro on August 9,1957, in Poblado Anahuac, Tamaulipas Mexico. They were married for 46 years till her passing on May 10, 2004. They had 10 children, Celestino (†), Francisco ( Diana ) Castro of Bermuda Dunes, Ca; Silvia Hermelinda ( Mario ) Castillo of Indio, Ca; Arnoldo ( Arlene ) Castro of Bermuda Dunes, Ca; Silviano ( Norma ) Castro Jr., of Indio, Ca, Americo Castro (†), Julio (Regina) Castro of Bermuda Dunes, Ca; Blanca Irasema Castro of Indio, Ca, Orlando (Alma) Castro of Indio, Ca and Edna Cora ( Steve) Schumann of Los Altos, Ca. He also leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. In 1974 they migrated to the United States, Los Fresnos, Texas along with their children to seek a better life. He loved the United States and became a Citizen for his right to vote. In April 1978, he moved with his family to the Coachella Valley in California where he lived for the next 39 years. Jose Silviano was motivated to start a gardening and landscape business after working for someone else. He worked from sunrise to sunset with his young sons to teach them the responsibilities of life. Jose Silviano was a quick learner who advanced through school at an early age and would teach local children how to read and write. Later, he supported children in need through World Vision. He was always willing to help without seeking attention or recognition. He built structures, drove trucks and farm equipment and could fix almost anything. There was no challenge to him that he couldn't figure out. He was a very loving, dedicated provider, honest, hard-working man who never complained. For our father there was no rest, on weekends nor holidays, every day was just another work day. Jose Silviano was a man who dedicated his entire life to providing for and raise his family. His happiest moments were to be with his entire family at the dinner table, especially on Sundays. He will be missed by all his family and friends.
