Jose Carlos Albor, affectionately known as "Pepe," "Briones," and "Capitan," passed away on September 27, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on February 14, 1943, in Phoenix, Arizona, Carlos lived a life full of joy, laughter, and cherished memories.
A dedicated and skilled worker, he began his career as a mechanic with Hughes Airwest at LAX in 1971. His journey continued with Republic Airlines in 1972, which later became Northwest Airlines. After more than three decades of remarkable service as a ground service supervisor, he retired in 2002, leaving behind a legacy that his colleagues fondly remember. His years at LAX earned him the nickname “Capitan,” a title that reflected both his leadership and camaraderie in the aviation community.
Carlos was not only defined by his professional accomplishments but also by his vibrant personality. He was a man known for his happiness, always joking and playful, able to light up the room with his presence. He relished his time spent fishing, camping, and traveling, and he nurtured a profound love for his family, especially his grandchildren, Rayna Lucille and Drake Colton, who were his greatest treasures.
Among the many warm memories shared by his family is the time they navigated Florida with a map, led by the direction of his children, only to find themselves at a stunning beach all to themselves instead of the Keys. Another cherished memory involves cooking barbarcoa de ollo in the backyard alongside his children and his father, an experience that epitomized the love and togetherness that defined his family life.
Carlos leaves behind his loving family: sisters Maria Ester Fuentes, Maria Eugenia Albor, Maria Elena Albor, and Martha Bakeman; his devoted children, Wendy Albor, Evelyn Albor, and Jose Carlos Antonio Albor Jr.; daughter-in-law Tiffany Albor; and beloved grandchildren, Rayna Lucille and Drake Colton Albor. He is predeceased by his father, Pablo Antonio Albor Paramo; mother, Maria del Carmen Albor Rubio; sister, Maria Luisa Martinez; and brother, Mariano Pablo Albor Rubio.
The memory of Carlos will be honored with a funeral service held at the Forest Lawn - Long Beach Memorial Chapel on October 16, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM. His spirit of kindness, his infectious laughter, and the love he shared with his family and friends will forever be remembered by all who knew him. Carlos Albor’s legacy of warmth, joy, and family will live on in the hearts of those who loved him dearly.
