Jose “Boy” Alabada passed away peacefully on October 2, 2024, due to kidney disease. Born on April 25, 1942, in Manila, Philippines, he moved to Los Angeles in his 20s and called it home for nearly 60 years.
He is survived by his wife, Elena, his son Joseph, his sister Anne and his brother Nestor. He also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
An avid sports fan, he took pleasure in following all the local teams especially the Lakers. He loved bowling and playing all-night mahjong and card games with family and friends.
A private memorial service to celebrate Jose’s life will be held at Forest Lawn, Glendale
