Pepe was born and raised in Guatemala City. He moved to Los Angeles in the summer of 1988. His love of photography developed after taking an elective photography course at Glendale Community College. He went on to graduate from Art Center College of Design in 2005 with a BFA in photography. He has since traveled the world, quite literally, photographing and documenting his love of fashion, landscape, architecture, and portraiture. He was a master of light. Whether it was natural outdoor lighting or a technically art directed studio shoot, his images were a flawless display of talent and passion for what he did.

Pepe is survived by his loving family and friends in both Los Angeles and Guatemala. His remains will be laid to rest in Guatemala City, but his laughter, his smile, his electrifying presence and energy, his loyal and unfaltering love for family and friends, his art...will never rest. Pepe left an indelible mark on the lives he touched and on everyone who had the good fortune of knowing him.
