Jorge Pineda Cuellar was born October 28, 1939, in Santa Ana, El Salvador. He was raised by his mother Julia Pineda after his father abandoned him and three brothers (Ricardo, Armando, and Rafael) at a very young age. As a side hobby growing up, Jorge was a part-time "Lucha Libre", a Latin wrestler. On occasion, he would show his kids and grandkids a move or two, much to their enjoyment.
Jorge married Gloria Cuellar in El Salvador where they lived together 20 years. She was a very talented seamstress, a wonderful homemaker and dedicated mother to their children.
Jorge and Gloria immigrated legally to the United States with his entire family at the age of 39 after returning several times to El Salvador to bring the last of his children to America. They bought a home and settled in La Puente, California.
In California, he worked many years as a machinist at Peat Manufacturing Co and later at Coca Cola Company as a warehouseman and later retired after 15 years. He worked hard to support his family. Every Sunday morning, you could always find him in church hearing the word of God and carrying out his duties as a Deacon. Gloria died suddenly, and Jorge become widowed in 2002.
After having health issues, he moved in with his daughter Ana and her husband Tony Calderon where he lived for nine years. He lived a comfortable and easy life. Tony became his second son. He enjoyed accompanying Tony on road trips whenever he could. He spent a lot of his time watching television v and listening to his Christian tapes. His favorite shows were church services and telenovelas. He wrote a lot of stories and words of wisdom, often sharing them with his family. When he was not doing that, he spent time in the yard with Ana's two dogs.
At the time of his passing, he is survived by his four daughters and one son: Ana Calderon, Nora Kendrick, George Pineda, Yani Mendoza, and Irma Mendoza (his youngest daughter, Karla Cuellar preceded him in death). He also has twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren to complete his legacy.
Jorge at the age of 78, passed away the morning of November 20, 2017 to join his dedicated wife Gloria and his daughter Karla in heaven. Rest in peaceâ¦
