Jordan JonMichael
Bartlett
Oct 28, 1987 — Jun 20, 2026
Long Beach
Though his journey ended far too soon, the impact of his life will be felt for generations to come.
On October 28, 1987, God blessed the late Carolyn Vanell Bartlett and Richard Irving Bartlett with a precious son, Jordan JonMichael Bartlett. Born at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Bellflower, California, Jordan entered the world with a bright spirit, a curious mind, and a loving heart. On June 20, 2026, surrounded by God's grace, Jordan peacefully transitioned from this earthly life at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Downey, California. Though his journey ended far too soon, the impact of his life will be felt for generations to come. Rest peacefully, Jordan. Your race has been run, your work is done, and your legacy of love lives on. May God hold you close and keep you forever in His eternal embrace until we meet again.
Jordan believed in growth, perseverance, and the power of education. He attended Newcomb Academy, Millikan High School, and Wilson High School in Long Beach before earning his high school diploma in 2004. His educational journey continued with an Associate of Arts degree from Cerritos College in 2013, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Cum Laude, from California State University, Fullerton in 2016. Never one to settle, Jordan earned a Master of Arts in Counseling and Guidance from San José State University in 2022, preparing himself to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. His passion for learning remained unwavering, and he was excited about the opportunity to pursue a Ph.D. after receiving an invitation from the University of Southern California.
Jordan possessed a remarkable athletic ability that became evident at an early age. Whether on the soccer field, baseball diamond, football field, or basketball court, he competed with heart, determination, and joy. Sports taught him discipline, teamwork, and resilience—qualities that remained with him throughout his life. Away from the field, he proudly rooted for his beloved Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Dallas Cowboys.
While Jordan achieved much academically and athletically, his greatest source of pride and joy was being a father. His children—Kyla Aje Carolyn Bartlett, Ari K'Loni Bartlett, and K'Lon King Richard Bartlett—were the light of his life. He loved them deeply, believed in them wholeheartedly, and dreamed of bright futures for each of them. His love for his children is a gift that will continue to live in their hearts forever.
Jordan was more than his accomplishments. He was a loving son, a devoted brother, a caring nephew, a cherished cousin, and a loyal friend. He had a gentle spirit, a thoughtful mind, and a quiet determination that inspired those fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind countless memories filled with laughter, conversations, encouragement, and unconditional love.
Jordan leaves to cherish his memory his beloved children, Kyla, Ari, and K'Lon; his Father Richard Irving Bartlett; his brother, Marquis Bartlett; his sisters, Myiesha Taylor (William) and Jinae Roa (Ramil); his aunts, Fran Wallace, Dawn Bartlett, and Tonia Bartlett; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by knowing him.
Today, while our hearts are heavy with sorrow, they are equally filled with gratitude. We give thanks for the years we were blessed to share with Jordan, for the love he freely gave, the lives he touched, and the dreams he pursued with courage and conviction. His story reminds us that a life is measured not simply by its length, but by the love it leaves behind.
Though we must say goodbye for now, we take comfort in knowing that love never dies. Jordan's smile, his spirit, and his unwavering love for his family will continue to shine through the lives of those he cherished most.
Rest peacefully, Jordan. Your race has been run, your work is done, and your legacy of love lives on. May God hold you close and keep you forever in His eternal embrace until we meet again
