Jong Nyun Bae was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, friend, and a loving grandmother. She had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others.
Jong Nyun Bae was born in Kimpo, South Korea on April 18, 1935 to Shih Jae Cho and Hak Kyu Limb. Her parents both passed away at a young age and she and her older and younger siblings took responsibility over the family. At the age of 26, she caught the eye of a very handsome man by the name of Suk Won Bae. With the help of her brother, he found the courage to ask her out. They dated briefly and knew that they were meant to be together. They married and a year later they welcomed their son Bobby Bae.
In 1972 they emigrated from South Korea to the United States with the help of her brother Steve. They arrived in Glendale California with only two hundred dollars in their pocket. Hard working and determined to make a better life for her family, she and her husband worked two jobs cleaning office buildings and dealership parking lots. Their hard work and sacrifice paid off, as they were able to save enough money to start their own garment factory and printing company.
Mrs. Bae had an unwavering faith in God. When she wasn't working, she was at church worshipping and helping in any way that she could. She was a dedicated member and she dearly loved her church family.
Mrs. Bae loved to entertain, and hosted many parties where her family and church friends would gather to enjoy her wonderful cooking. Mrs. Bae had a giving heart. Her food was always available to everyone. Often times, she catered for her church and for her beloved grandchildren.
On August 8, 2015 she suffered a stroke. Her health took a turn for the worst in early March of this year, when she was hospitalized and diagnosed with pneumonia. On Sunday, March 18, 2018 with her son by her side, she went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 6:57am.
Her spirit of sharing and giving lives on through her husband Suk Won Bae, her son Bobby and his wife Veronica, and her two grandchildren: Jessica and Brandon. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 12pm at 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, California 90068. Internment Location: Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills - Loving Kindness.
