John Joseph Zamora, affectionally known as JZ, of La Quinta, California, took the hand of an angel on March 17, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Los Angeles on August 24, 1946, son of Joe and Josie Zamora. He was raised in Monterey Park and graduated from Mark Keppel High School in 1964. He also attended Pasadena City College, East LA Jr. College, Trade Tech, and Cal State LA. John married Linda L. Syverud on July 31, 1971 at the San Gabriel Mission Church. He and his wife lived in Rowland Heights, Hacienda Heights and Anaheim Hills before finally settling in La Quinta in 2007.John's entire professional life was spent in the commercial printing business. He began his printing career in 1966 and ultimately fulfilled his lifetime dream of owning his own printing company, Graphic Press in 2000. John is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Linda: son Brian and his wife Annie and their daughters, June and Faye; son Brad and his wife Angie and their sons, Jack and Max; his daughter Cara Riggs and her husband Kris and their sons, Clayton, Chase and Kipton; his sister Marie Brush and her husband David and his nephews, Jeff, John, and Ron and his niece, Jennette Boulware and their extended families. John was always one to live life to the fullest. He extended his hand in friendship and generosity to everyone he knew and met. Over the years, John spent his free time deep sea fishing, boating, water and jet skiing, playing golf and going to the horse races. He especially loved his thoroughbred horse ranch, JZ Stock Farm in Temecula, California. His biggest thrill was when he was in the winners circle! Many memories were also made on family and friend vacations, and as the years progressed, his grandchildren brought him great joy!! A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 47-225 Washington Street, La Quinta, CA. 92253. A Celebration of Life will follow immediately after the Mass at Moutain View Country Club, 80375 Pomelo Sy., La Quinta, CA.
