John S. Spencer, age 60 of Plaistow, NH formerly of Everett, MA passed away suddenly at his home in Plaistow on Monday, March 2, 2015.

He was born on March 19, 1954 in Everett, MA the son of the late Alexander N. and Doris I. (Skinner) Spencer. He was raised and educated in Everett and attended Everett Vocational High School. Following high school, John enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Texas and Germany. He was honorably discharged.

John worked as a welder at GE in Lynn, MA for over 25 years and retired in 1996.

He liked watching television, especially the History Channel. He was an avid reader who enjoyed everything to do with aliens or UFO's. John liked to travel and go on cruises. His dream trip was to travel to England. He liked to take an occasional trip to Foxwoods as well. When John's boys were younger, he liked to volunteer to coach their youth sports teams. Above all else, John cherished spending time with his family.

John is survived by his spouse, Sandra J. (Giunta) Spencer of Wilmington, MA. His sons; Charles Spencer of Malden, MA, Daniel Spencer and fiancé, Kimberly Short of Wilmington, MA and Christopher Spencer of Wilmington, MA. His brothers; Roy Spencer and spouse, Sherry of Salem, NH and Allan Spencer and partner, Carline of Pelham, NH. His sister, Lorraine Carleton and spouse, Howie of Saugus, MA. His grandchildren; Shane Spencer, Dylan Rea, Kayla Spencer, Brayden Spencer and Avrie Spencer. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. John was predeceased by his brother, Arthur Spencer.

There are no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street (Rt. 121A), Plaistow, NH 03865. The U.S. Army will render Military Honors following the services.
