John Richard Moritz

March 4, 1963 — June 20, 2021

John Richard Moritz of Los Angeles, CA passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at the age of 58. He was born March 4, 1963 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Peter F. and Mary Lou (Seibert) Moritz.

He graduated from St. Peter's Catholic High School and received his Bachelor Degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Dayton in April, 1986.

Upon his graduation, John's early years involved a position as a stock specialist assistant as well as investing in and managing a small coffee house in West Los Angeles, CA. In 1992 he then became a marketing associate and human resources/finance manager for Trident Dental Laboratories where he worked until 2001. John then pursued a position as a multi-property estate manager in Malibu and Venice, enjoying this responsibility for the next seven years. He then became an investor/manager in a bar venture, Barkowski, with his valued business partner Richard Miller.

John had a wonderful sense of humor and wit that allowed him to be blessed with many friendships that he acquired during his years in California. He had a passion for skateboarding and intensely followed the Los Angeles sports teams as well as the Series A and Formula 1 race car circuits. We all enjoyed seeing John's frequent Facebook posts displaying his loyalty and enthusiasm for his LA teams! His most endearing qualities were his sense of confidence and quick wit!
