Hampstead, NH: John "Jack" S. Mooney, 67, of Hampstead and former longtime resident of Atkinson, NH, died at his home on July 19, 2014 of natural causes.

Born in Boston, MA and raised and educated in Concord, MA son of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Kelly) Mooney, he graduated from Concord Carlisle High School with the Class of 1965. He went on to receive a Bachelor's of Science Degree from Boston College graduating in 1971. Mr. Mooney served as Second Lieutenant in the Army National Guard, Battery A 1st Battalion 102nd Field Artillery based in Salem, MA, from 1971-1977. Mr. Mooney worked as a self-employed environmental salesman for many years.

A member of St. Anne's Parish in Hampstead, he was also a member of the Haverhill Rod and Gun Club and the Country Pond Fish and Game Club. An avid Boston College and New England Patriots football fan, Mr. Mooney enjoyed target shooting, reading, studying military history, and also had a long standing interest in cars.

He is survived by his wife of forty years, Anne Marie (Roach) Mooney of Chelsea, MA, a son, Matthew E. Mooney and his fiancé Christine Hegarty of Somerville, MA, a daughter, Catherine A. Mooney of Somerville, MA, three brothers, two sisters, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A private Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anne's Church, Hampstead, NH. Arrangements are under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, Plaistow, NH.
