John George Mesicek, 68, born on July 4, 1950, in Humbolt, Iowa, passed away May 15, 2019 from complications related to cancer. He resided in Palm Springs, California at the time of his passing. John was passionate about education and was a teacher for most of his life. For several of those years, he was employed at Desert Hot Springs High School. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2015, and courageously battled cancer for close to 4 years. During his battle, he remained dedicated to changing the lives of his students, friends, and family. He is survived by his 3 children, Karri (Chris) Hudson, Nicole ( Rodrigo) Cazares, and Michael Mesicek, and his 6 grandsons and 1 granddaughter, as well as his sister Nilene ( Frank) White, nieces, and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Hubert and Frances Mesicek, as well as his brother, David Mesicek. Funeral services will be held at Desert Chapel on May 25, 2019 at 11 AM.
