Atkinson,NH: John B. Goodwin, a resident of Atkinson for the past thirty years, died Friday, April 24, 2015, in Boston.

Born and raised in Ft. Pierce, Florida, son of the late Bascom and Desmarais (Allen) Goodwin, he attended the Bowlles School and the University of Miami at Coral Gables. He later attended Dalcroze School of Music in Manhattan, NYC, and received his Certification in Elementary Music Education in 1967 and later his full certification in 1971.

A resident of Bronxville, NY for seventeen years until moving to Atkinson in 1985, Mr. Goodwin was a piano teacher and also a member of the Atkinson Congregational Church. He also enjoyed painting, sculpturing, the Arts and gardening.

He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Jane M. (Whitehouse) Goodwin, a brother David Goodwin of Englewood Florida and nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will take place on Saturday at 10:30 am in The Atkinson Congregational Church, Main St., Atkinson, NH. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to The Atkinson Congregational Church, 101 Main St., Atkinson, NH or to Bok Tower Gardens, 1151 Tower Blvd., Lake Wales,Fl 33853.
