John Alvin Corey, son of Mr. & Mrs. John and Emma Corey of Arnold, PA.

John was born in Arnold, PA on July 1, 1926 and was very active in the community. His two brothers, Fred and Raymond, and his sisters, Evelyn and Dorothy, preceded him in going to the Lord. 

John worked for the Aluminum Co. for many years as a Buffer in the C.U. Division. Later he worked at Alleg-Ludlum Steel Co. and was an I.D. Grinder on the first nuclear submarine. He worked for the Walzer Dry Cleaners for many years as a Router Driver and was well known before going to California.

He came to California in 1963 and his first job was a cook at Knott’s Berry Farm. He later worked for F.E. Olds Music Co. as a Buffer and at Swedlow Co., makers of airplane windows.

He also was a foreman at the Anaconda Wire Cable Co. for 8 years. His last job was with A.E. Systems as a Supervisor and retired in 1991. For more than 20 years, John was either a Foreman or Supervisor.

Burial will be at Forest Lawn in Cypress, CA. He leaves his son, Gary Corey of Wildomar, CA, two granddaughters, Tracy Lowry and Tammy Crisp, and six great grandchildren. John’s first wife Lena Corey, mother of his son, went to the Lord in 2022. Norma, John’s second wife, went to the Lord in 1997, and his third wife, Ann, went to the Lord in 2013.

John served in the US Army during WWII after graduating from Arnold High School in 1944. He was a Corporal in the Military Police from 1944 to August 1946.

John loved to garden, detail cars and play card tricks.
