John Henry Coletti

October 5, 1924 — December 6, 2016

John Henry Coletti, a loving and spirited force for his family and friends, passed away on December 6th in Studio City, California. He was 92.

Mr. Coletti lived vibrantly – from improvising the role of Tarzan to the delight of the three Aunts who helped to care for him due to the early death of his mother, when he was only 7, to announcing that he wanted to get his ear pierced at the age of 88.

John "taught me about living life on your own terms regardless of what others may think or believe," said Lauren Bullock, his niece, who also described Mr. Coletti as the "sweetest Uncle and friend."

Born in Locust Dale, Pennsylvania, to Marguerita Campomizzi and John Coletti, he had two brothers, Joseph Ronald and Umbert Coletti, and a sister, Delores, who died as an infant.

Mr. Coletti was a Private First Class in the Army, stationed on Midway Island in the North Pacific throughout World War II.  After serving his country with full honors, and a letter of gratitude from President Harry S. Truman, he lived on the Upper West Side of Manhattan before relocating to California and taking a job with Lockheed Martin. He settled in Los Feliz and lived with the love of his life, Deane Arnold, his devoted partner of 52 years until Deane passed away in 2009.

A very special thanks to Shelly Rios, Tim Ray and the rest of the staff at the Inn on the Boulevard for taking such good care of John.

Mr. Coletti is survived by an extended family of cousins and nieces and nephews who think of him fondly. Charlotte, Lauren and Damon will miss you Coco John.

His final wish for all of us was to, "Keep love in your heart."
