John Ciccarelli, cherished son, devoted father, and loving grandfather, passed away on February 21, 2026, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 67. Born on October 23, 1958, in San Gabriel, California, Johnny, as he was fondly known to family and friends, lived a life marked by kindness, a relaxed spirit, and an enduring commitment to those he cared about.
Johnny’s early years were shaped by his education in the local community—beginning at Shirpser Elementary School in El Monte, California, and culminating in his graduation from Rosemead High School in Rosemead, California. During his adolescent and teenage years, Johnny was an avid baseball and football player, embracing sports with enthusiasm and the camaraderie they inspired.
Those closest to Johnny remember him for his easygoing personality and “live and let live” attitude—a man who approached life with a gentle kindness and a readiness to support his friends and family in times of need. These qualities endeared him deeply to those around him and left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
One of Johnny's proudest accomplishments was his role as a steadfast pillar in the lives of his son and grandsons. His devotion to helping John Michael Ciccarelli, his son, and his grandsons, John Michael Ciccarelli Jr. and Michael Anthony Ciccarelli, was a testament to his generous heart and unwavering support.
Johnny's journey on this earth was tragically altered following a severe bicycle accident that led to a decline in his health, from which he ultimately did not recover. Though his passing is a profound loss, it is comfort to know that Johnny was surrounded by those who cherished him deeply.
He is survived by his son, John Michael Ciccarelli; his grandsons, John Michael Ciccarelli Jr. and Michael Anthony Ciccarelli; and Elaine Ciccarelli, mother of his son. Johnny also leaves behind his sister, Mary Ellen Roberts; brother-in-law, Mike Roberts; niece, Stacy Roberts; and nephew, Michael Roberts. His dearest friend, Rico Duran, along with Rico’s wife Martha, their daughter Jessica, and the entire Duran family, also mourn his passing while celebrating the friendship, joy and memories he brought into their lives.
Johnny was predeceased by his parents, John Anthony Ciccarelli and Dolores Ethel Mae Ciccarelli, whose memories live on in the hearts of their family.
A funeral service to honor Johnny’s life will take place on March 27, 2026, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Forest Lawn - Covina Hills - Church of our Heritage, located at 21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina, California.
As we say goodbye to Johnny Ciccarelli, we hold close the warmth of his kindness, the ease of his spirit, and the beautiful legacy he leaves within his family and friends. His life, rich in love and compassion, reminds us all of the power of a gentle heart and a generous soul.
