Danville, NH: John R. Amirault, age 84 of Danville, NH passed away peacefully with his loving family, grandchildren, and nephew David O'Brien by his side on Friday, November 7, 2014 at Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill.

He was born on August 29, 1930 in Haverhill, the son of the late David J. and Miriam (Fenton) Amirault. He was raised and educated in Haverhill and attended the Haverhill Trade School. John enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country during the Korean War and, following his discharge, went to work for Western Electric in No. Andover as a Machine Setter for over 30 years before retiring from AT&T in 1990.

John enjoyed gardening, bike riding, taking long walks and especially spending time with his family. He was a "master of all trades" and could take care of everything around his home himself. John and his wife Mary enjoyed spending winters in Florida following their retirement. He was a member of St. Anne's Church in East Hampstead, NH, the Telephone Pioneers of America, and the Lorriane Post V.F.W. in Haverhill.

John will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary (Distefano) Amirault of Danville, NH, his three daughters; Cynthia M. Amirault of N. Chelmsford, MA, Joanne M. McCartney and her husband, Richard of Chester, NH and Patricia A. Amirault of No. Andover, MA, his grandchildren; Devin McCartney and Casey McCartney, and his sister, Theresa Daggett of Haverhill, MA. His brothers-in law and sisters-in law Sebastian and Helen Distefano, Gregory and Annette Distefano, Lucy Difeo, Thomas O'Brien, several nieces and nephews, and close family friends Sharron and Dale Norman also survive him. John was predeceased by his brother, David J. Amirault Jr. and his sisters, Miriam O'Brien and Mary Fountaine.

Friends and family are invited to attend Mr. Amirault's Life Celebration on Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 3-7 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street (Rt. 121A), Plaistow, NH 03865. His funeral will begin on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 9:30 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial and rendering of Military Honors at 10:30 AM at St. Anne's Church, 26 Emerson Avenue, East Hampstead, NH 03841.
