Johanna H. Toorop

Johanna H. Toorop, 81, born on January 27, 1938, in Indonesia, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019. She resided in Lake Forest , California at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.

Johanna was born in Cheribon, Dutch Indies (now Indonesia) in 1938 as part of a twin. Until the age of 18 she lived in the Dutch Indies with her parents, older brother, twin sister and younger brother. In 1956 the familiy moved back to Holland, as the Republic of Indonesia did not allow other nationalities to remain in the country.

After staying in Holland for 3+ years, Johanna decided to emigrate to California U.S.A. Being a pioneer in regard to emigrating, in the two years after she moved, her twin sister and older brother also moved to California and the family was reunited. Johanna was always keen on studying and has had several successful jobs in Engineering. She loved taking extra classes and studies in order to gain more knowledge and become even better at what she did.

Johanna was passionate about drawing, creating art, studying the Bible, gardening and keeping her home in perfect condition. Her favorite place was Dana Point, she loved to be near the ocean and watch the waves. She had a quick wit, a great sense of humor and a loving heart for her close family and friends.

A Celebration of life will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church 23262 El Toro Rd, Lake Forest, CA 92630
