Joe Vela

Joe L. Vela “The King” 79 was ushered into heaven on April 29, 2023 surrounded by his wife and loving children. 

Joe was born to his parents, Rebecca and Lawrence Vela on February 27, 1944 in Santa Paula, California. He grew up in Elko,Nevada and after moved to Cabazon, California. Joe spent the next 30 years in Palm Springs-Cathedral City, Ca until his passing.

Joe is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Labuen of Cathedral City, his three sons Raymond of Virginia Beach, VA,  Rommillio of Santa Ana, CA , Samuel (Lucy) of Cathedral City, CA. His five daughters, Flora, Rose and Erika(Donyea) of Cathedral City, CA , Josephine (Matt) of Middletown, Delaware and Lillibeth (Dan) of Irvine, CA, His three sisters, Margarita Ainsworth of Las Vegas, Nevada, Linda Vela, and Cindy Irby (Ernie) both of Cabazon, CA.

20 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca R. Vela of Cabazon, California, his sister, Celeste G. Vela of Banning, California. Brother-in-law Richard Ainsworth and Niece Debbie Ainsworth both of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Joe was truly loved and will be greatly missed.
