Joaquin Granados, 79, born on August 16, 1946, Passed away February 25, 2026.
If you were looking for a superhero or the guy with the "#1 Dad" mug, that wasn't Joaquin. He was a real man with real flaws, and he would have been the first to tell you so. But to the people who knew him, he was one of a kind, he was fiercely authentic, and he will be incredibly missed.
He was a man who believed in putting in an honest day’s work. He worked hard throughout his life to ensure his family was provided for, carrying that responsibility with a quiet dedication. He and his wife, Catalina, shared a profoundly real marriage, navigating all the ups, downs, and imperfections of life side by side for 55 years.
Where Joaquin truly shined was in his ability to draw people in. He had a gift for making everyone who walked through his door feel completely welcomed. You rarely left a conversation with him without hearing a great story, laughing at one of his jokes, or just enjoying his natural ability to hold a room.
Though he wasn't a perfect man, his love for his family was undeniable, especially when it came to his grandchildren, whom he absolutely adored. He leaves behind a family who is heartbroken to say goodbye, and who loved him deeply, exactly as he was.
He is survived by his wife, Catalina; his children, Elizabeth, Catalina, Joaquin, Diana, Eduardo, Gerardo, Darinka; his beloved grandchildren, Tanya, Alan, Ivan, Karla, Christopher, Emiliano, Jocelyn, Sebastian, Maggie, Alyssa, Kevin, Nathan, Jayden, Erik, Marilina, Miles; Great Grandchildren Aiden, Juan, Izrael, Marinette, Marcy; family and a lifetime of friends who will forever miss his laugh and his stories.
