Joanne Louise Del Nero, 58, born on July 6, 1959, in Pomona, California, passed away December 13, 2017. She resided in Rancho Cucamonga, California at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Covina Hills, California.

She was born in Pomona, California to Stanley and Helen Gilbert on July 6, 1959. She attended schools in Pomona, Ontario and Shreveport, Louisiana.

In 1976, she gave birth to her first son James Michael, with her first husband Ron Ganczak.

Later, she went on to receive her BA from Cal State University San Bernardino and her MA from Azusa Pacific University.

Joanne remarried in 1988 to Thomas Gene Del Nero and had two kids, Ryan Joseph and Kelsey Leigh.

Joanne taught in pre-schools and daycares for eight years, including Prince of Peace Daycare and Cookie Land Pre-school. After she received her teaching credentials, Joanne was one of the first teachers to start teaching at Windrows Elementary School in the Etiwanda School District. She taught Kindergarten, K-1 and 1st Grade classes at Windrows for thirty-one years, teaching almost a thousand students in her career.

Joanne leaves behind her husband Thomas, her son James and his wife Vanessa, her son Ryan, and her Daughter Kelsey and her husband Robert Jones. She also leaves behind her brother Keith and his wife Sandy, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Patricia Wells.

Funeral services will be held at Forest Lawn in Covina, California on December 27th, 2017. There will be a visitation from 8:30am-11:00am. The service will be at 12:00pm with a reception following.

Arrangements are being handled by Forest Lawn, Covina.
