Jin Pei Chen

Jin Pei Chen was born on February 15, 1948, in China, where his life began amid great hardship and resilience. As a young man, he made the difficult decision to leave his homeland in search of better opportunities, enduring tremendous adversity and repeated hardships while journeying to Hong Kong. Through perseverance and unbreakable determination, he eventually settled in Hong Kong, where he met the love of his life, Cheuk Ying, and together they began building a family rooted in love, hope, and sacrifice. In 1999, driven by an unwavering desire to provide a brighter future for his children, Jin Pei immigrated to the United States with the support of his sisters, embracing yet another profound change with courage, gratitude, and optimism.

Jin Pei was an accomplished electrician, but above all, he was a devoted and loving family man. He cherished his five daughters: Emily, Brenda, Sherry, Wendy, and Kelly, who were the pride and joy of his life. His love extended warmly to his sons-in-law, Tony and Patrick, and to his beloved grandchildren, Emma, Alex, and Eden, each of whom held a special place in his heart. His legacy of love, generosity, and devotion lives on through them.

He was deeply devoted to his beloved wife, Cheuk Ying, who passed away on February 28, 2022. She was his constant companion and soulmate, and with her passing, a part of his heart went with her. Now reunited, their love endures beyond this life.

Jin Pei was known for his kindness, openness, and gentle spirit. He was always willing to help others without expectation, especially his siblings, children, and grandchildren. He found great joy in simple moments: sharing meals with family, spending quiet time at home, and taking peaceful walks in the park while appreciating the beauty around him. Music brought him comfort and happiness, particularly the songs of ABBA, and he took great pride in collecting and caring for sound systems, a hobby that brought him deep satisfaction.

A man of faith, Jin Pei believed in God and was baptized in November 29, 2015. His faith gave him strength, comfort, and peace, especially during the later years of his life. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Jin Pei Chen’s life.

Visitation: A visitation will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn – Hollywood Hills, Room B, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068.

Funeral Service: The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Forest Lawn – Hollywood Hills, Church of the Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068.

Burial/Interment: Following the service, Jin Pei Chen will be laid to rest at the Twilight section of Forest Lawn – Hollywood Hills Cemetery.

Jin Pei Chen will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his generous heart, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
