Jimmy In

Our beloved Jimmy "Lundi" In passed away peacefully on January 18th, 2025 at the age of 88, in his hometown of Long Beach, California. He stayed strong in his battle with dementia and fought hard until the very end to stay alive for his loved ones. 

Jimmy In was born on June 6, 1936 in the Battambang Province in Cambodia. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was one of the few in his family that survived the Cambodian Holocaust and migrated to the United States to settle in California. With the unconditional support of the love of his life, Porchou In, they created a beautiful thriving life for their family through perseverance, hard work and lots of self sacrifice. Jimmy was a very skilled, kind-hearted, funny, intelligent man whose gift to the world was self sacrifice for those he loved. He would work any job as long as he was able to provide for his family which lead to quite a resume of jobs. Jimmy's true calling was his service and impact to the Cambodian community through politics which will have positive impacts for generations to come. Jimmy's true passion was his grandchildren as he loved them so much and made so many beautiful memories with them. His legacy will never be forgotten, always cherished, forever loved and will continue living on through all those lives that he touched. 

He is survived by his spouse, Porchou In, 8 children (Sakon, Hakly, Kenya, Visal, Rithya, Socheata, Rosanara, Racy), 20 grandchildren (Molika, Odom, Sunny, Alice, Narita, Raksa, Chouleng, Nalina, Andy, David, Darlene, Cloey, Charlize, Riyan, Rinae, Azelia, Adonis, Riley, Landen, Logan) and 4 great grandchildren (Kilanah, Kaylee, Kelvin, Caleb).

Jimmy will be honored in a ceremony on February 13, 2025 from 2pm to 6pm at Forest Lawn Cypress Patriot's Chapel
