Mr. Jim C. Valassis, 82, born on December 24, 1930, in Los Angeles, CA, passed away December 15, 2013. He resided in Palm Desert, CA at the time of his passing. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a private first class and was honored with the National Defense Service medal and the Army Occupation medal. He is survived by his sons, John (Angel), Victor (Debra), Michael (Gina) and his daughters, Rosalie, Dolores (Mike) and several loving grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at Riverside National Cemetery at 11:31am on Thursday, December 26, 2013. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cathedral City, CA.
