Jesus Ramos Canales

Jesús Ramos "El Jefe", 91, of Zacatecas, Mexico, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on January 14, 2026.

He was born and raised in Saín Alto, Zacatecas, and lived a humble life with very little. Even so, he became successful in his own way. As a young man with a growing family of eight, he worked hard by owning and operating a mineral mine in his town. The mine was his passion and a way to share success with others. He never turned away anyone willing to put in a hard day’s work, helping them provide for their families.

Jesus was known for always lending a helping hand. He offered work to strangers, gave cash when needed, sent people to the local store for food or medicine and put it on his tab, or simply gave the shirt off his back to help someone in need.

Our dad leaves behind a large family that is deeply thankful for his sacrifices and his determination to immigrate and provide a better life for his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his daughter Carmela and his son Chuy. He is survived by his wife, Maria Elena; his sons Reyes, Miguel, Manuel, Alfredo, and Alex; his daughters Leticia and Juana; and his many grandchildren, who were a constant source of pride and joy in his life.

Funeral services will be held on February 14, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, Old North Church.

His memory will live on through his family and friends.
