Jesus Ponce Gonzales

Jesus Ponce Gonzales, 91, was born on September 28, 1921, in Whittier, California to Sabina Ponce and Ralph Gonzales; he passed away July 14, 2013. His Mother passed away at age 38 when Jesus was just 16 years old. Information regarding his Father's death is unknown. Jesus had 4 brothers; Ralph Jr., Ted, Frank and Joe, as well as 3 sisters; Ramona, Ramona (Mona), and Mary Louise; and 3 step-sisters, Terry, Maggie and Josie. He joined the Army in 1942 and served in World War II until 1945. Upon his return home in 1945 to Gilroy, California he was introduced to his future wife, Carol Gonzales whom he married in 1948. Jesus was a Correctional Officer for the California Institution for Men in Chino, California for 21 years. In 1952 he purchased his first home for his family in Glendora, California, where he resided until the time of his passing. He is survived by his sister, Mona; children, Diane, Yolanda, Jesse, and Tracy. He is also survived by his Grandchildren, Rhonda, Todd, Trevor, Joey, Haley, Jacob, Tyler, Jeremy, Jessica, and Rian, and by his Great-Grandchildren, Brittany, Kacey, Lexy, Olivia, and Dylan. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Covina Hills, Covina, California.
