Jesus Ernesto Delagarza (Ernie), 78, born on June 11, 1945, in Brownsville, TX, United States, passed away May 23, 2024. Ernie, a proud veteran of the Air Force, was the son of Jesus and Ede Delagarza.  He attended high school in Plattsburgh New York and went to Plattsburgh State University before enlisting at the age of 23. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Sergeant.  As part of this service, he served as a Elect Computer System Repairman with International Business Machines. In 1974, Ernie earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Major in Mathematics at The University of Riverside in California.  In the late 1970’s while working for Lockheed, Ernie worked in Iran on the Train the Iranian Airmen project teaching them how to work on  computers.  In the late 1990’s Ernie worked for Northrop Grumman where he served as a software engineer on the B2 Spirit – Stealth Bomber.  Ernie retired from Northrop Grumman after the B2 Project ended. In 2000, Ernie earned his Executive MBA from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). Ernie is survived by his wife Barbara Delagarza, Sister Lesby Hill and her husband Charles.  Sister Linda Sievers and her husband Charlie,  along with nephews Steven Hill, David Hill, Christopher Hill and nieces Amy Valadez and Jenny Reyna. He resided in Brea, CA at the time of his passing. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Covina Hills, CA.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation to AMVets.
