Jesus Acevedo Peña

Born to Maria Bonilla and Carlos Acevedo.  He had 4 siblings who he cared for deeply. He served in the military in El Salvador and grew up having a passion for learning, repairing and re-purposing anything of utility. He learned at an early age to operate the telegraph from his dear father Carlos and learned about the power of compassion from his mother Maria.  He was married to Gladys Amalia Acevedo over 40 years and is now reunited with her in heaven. He was a great father to George and Gladys Elizabeth, as well a wonderfully loving grandfather to Jessica, Charlie, Natalia and Nathan and enjoyed taking them to Burger King and McDonald’s; and he cared deeply for his nephew Romeo Acevedo.  He came to the US in 1970 with a vision of opportunity and success for his family. He loved his 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe, enjoyed deeply analyzing world history, inquisitive about all cultures and taught us all to ask questions, critically think and draw thoughtful conclusions. Found refuge in the melancholy of listening to the Argentinian voice of Carlos Gardel to the romantic ballads of Javier Solis. In his delight of seeking new goals he became a commercial truck driver in his 50’s and visited over 10 states.  He immersed himself with the love of the arts, sketching, sculpting, debating the controversy of UFO’s, and above all mechanics. He now rests in peace and is undoubtedly making friends in heaven seeking the next adventure.

Hijo de María Bonilla y Carlos Acevedo. Tuvo 4 hermanos a los que cuidaba y quería profundamente. Sirvió en el ejército en El Salvador y creció con una pasión por aprender, reparar y reutilizar cualquier cosa útil. A una temprana edad, aprendió a operar el telégrafo de su querido padre Carlos y de su madre María, aprendió el poder de la compasión. Estuvo casado con Gladys Amalia Acevedo durante 40 años y ahora se reencuentra con ella en el cielo. Fue un gran padre para George y Gladys Elizabeth, así como un abuelo maravillosamente cariñoso para Jessica, Charlie, Natalia y Nathan, y disfrutó llevándolos a Burger King y McDonald's; y siempre se preocupaba profundamente por su sobrino Romeo Acevedo. Llegó a los Estados Unidos en 1970 con una visión de oportunidad y éxito para su familia. Amaba su Ford Mustang Coupe de 1966, disfrutó analizando profundamente la historia mundial, inquisitivo sobre todas las culturas y nos enseñó a todos a hacer preguntas, pensar críticamente y sacar conclusiones bien pensadas. Encontró refugio de su melancolía al escuchar la voz argentina de Carlos Gardel y las baladas románticas de Javier Solís. En su deleite por buscar nuevas metas, se convirtió en conductor de camiones comerciales cuando tenía 50 años y visitó más de 10 estados. Se sumergió en el amor por las artes, dibujando, esculpiendo, debatiendo la polémica de los ovnis, y sobre todo la mecánica. Ahora descansa en paz y sin duda está haciendo amigos en el cielo buscando la próxima aventura.
