Jerome "Jerry" Rosen, a devoted family man, dedicated professional, and beloved friend, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, at 2:03 a.m. in La Verne, California. Born on October 24, 1937, in Kilgore, Texas, Jerry lived a life marked by resilience, kindness, and an enduring commitment to the people he loved.
Early in his career, Jerry focused on Accounting, a path influenced by his academic pursuits that spanned 12 years due to the untimely passing of his father during his adolescence. Despite this challenge, Jerry persevered and earned a Bachelor’s degree majoring in both Accounting and Computer Science. This unique combination fueled a significant career transition in his early 30s when he turned his attention to Computer Science. He would spend the majority of his professional life as a Systems Analyst and eventually as a Manager at ARCO, a prominent oil company. His colleagues and associates remember him as a thoughtful and innovative leader who contributed immensely to his field.
Jerry was a man of varied interests; his curiosity extended well beyond his professional life. He had a profound appreciation for sports, music, history, and biographies of famous musicians and politicians. Always eager to learn and explore, he enjoyed researching the best deals on new technology gadgets and taking on home improvement projects. This enthusiasm for life was coupled with a warm personality and a remarkable ability to connect with others. Jerry loved people deeply and took genuine pleasure in getting to know everyone who crossed his path. His knack for making others feel at ease allowed them to share their stories openly, fostering meaningful and lasting friendships.
Family was the cornerstone of Jerry’s life. He held his wife, Meddie Rosen, dear to his heart, cherishing their relationship passionately. Their bond was so strong that even during his illness, Jerry worked tirelessly on a book that captured precious memories of their life together—an intimate gift he presented to Meddie on their 48th wedding anniversary, the very day he entered hospice care. He was also close to his brother, Howard Rosen, sister-in-law Lisa Rosen, niece Jenny Rosen, and embraced his extended family including the Jimenez family, his in-laws from his beloved Meddie's side. Jerry’s deep affection for each family member and friend was a defining part of who he was.
Jerry’s parents, Julius Rosen and Elizabeth Harris, passed away before him, as did his in-laws, Gen. Cesar Jimenez and Remedios Kipping Jimenez. Though their absence was felt deeply, Jerry’s life was continuously enriched by the relationships and memories he shared with those still with us.
His profound reflections on life are beautifully encapsulated in excerpts from the book he authored, where he wrote: “I am reminded that life itself is a book—each year a chapter, each memory a line written with love. What you hold in your hands is not only my story but also a part of your own. If you find yourself in these pages, it is because you mattered to me. Your friendship, your laughter, your prayers, your presence—big or small—were threads woven into the fabric of my life. For that, I am deeply grateful.” These words reveal the essence of a man who lived fully and loved deeply, whose journey does not truly end but continues through the stories and traditions carried on by those who knew him.
A Funeral Service to honor Jerry’s life will be held on December 10, 2025, beginning at 10:30 a.m. and concluding at 11:30 a.m., at St. Dorothy Catholic Church located at 241 South Valley Center Avenue, Glendora, CA 91741.
Jerome Rosen’s legacy is one of love, perseverance, and connection. He leaves behind a community of family and friends enriched by his presence and inspired by his example. As we remember Jerry, we hold onto his advice: to cherish family, hold on to faith, and live with gratitude. In doing so, we honor a life well lived and a spirit that remains with us always.
