Jennie Albright Rigby

Jennie Albright Rigby was born June 20, 1928 in the Piney Woods of East Texas in the little town of Gilmer. Her father was a sharecropper so Jennie learned early in life the value of hard work as she picked cotton and hoed rows of corn. That determination helped her become the first female in her family to graduate from high school and the first ever to graduate from college. She became a Soroptimist and business woman with her bridal shop proclaiming, "We provide everything but the groom."

In addition to raising four children, over the years her home welcomed more than forty foster children. Flowers filled her garden and were generously shared as was the fruit that grew on her trees. Jennie loved sharing the gospel with anyone she came in contact with. Her abiding faith in Christ, love of His Gospel and belief in His eternal plan gaver her the knowledge she would be eternally with her husband with whom she is now reunited. She passed away May 31, 2016 at her home in Garden Grove, California. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.
