Jeffrey Keith Savage
Jeffrey Keith Savage lived a vast and storied life. His exploits and tales of adventure will live on in all who loved him. Jeffrey had a unique and unabashed take on life; a free-spirit who lived life merrily on his own terms. Born in Chino, CA, his family moved to Virginia City when he was 13 years old. He graduated from Virginia City High School and his impression lives on among his friends in that community. Jeff was a long-time resident of Long Beach, CA. He was proud of the varied jobs he held during his life time including: Horse Trainer, Candy Maker, Casino Slot Repairman, Navy Seaman during the Vietnam War, and Business Owner of Metal Preparations, where he worked for almost 40 years. Jeff loved to cook; he loved good food and fine wine. He loved road trips and classic country music, especially old Waylon and Willie songs which he sang with his beautiful voice. Jeff was a member of the Seal Beach and Saint Francis Yacht Clubs. He loved to race sailboats and was most at home upon the Sea.
Though he had many achievements, Jeff was most proud of his four children, Keely, Bri, John Crew & Ally who have inherited the very best parts of their Father and are his Legacy. He is survived by his four children, his mother Jean Bennett, his brother Brad Savage, sister Alyse Barnes, his former wives Lisa Savage and Kerry MacKendrick and many cousins, nieces and nephews. His Family and Friends will miss him dearly.
Rest in Peace Jeffrey Keith, beloved Father, Son, Husband, and Friend.
The Family plans to have a private memorial gathering in Catalina this Summer.
SEA FEVER
By John Masefield.
I must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by.
And the wheels kick and the winds song and the white sail's shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea's face, and a grey dawn breaking.
I must go down to the sea again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
All I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the seagulls crying.
I must go down to the sea again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull's way and the whales way, where the wind's like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow rover,
And a quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trips over.
Love always,
Lisa
