With profound sadness and endless love, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, sister, family member, and friend, Jeannett.
Jeannett was the kind of person whose presence could light up an entire room. She carried a vibrant spirit, a beautiful smile, and a warmth that made everyone around her feel loved, welcomed, and safe. She was selfless in every sense of the word, always putting others before herself and giving endlessly to the people she loved.
Above all, Jeannett was a devoted wife and the most incredible mother to her only daughter, Chanel Washington. The bond they shared was unbreakable, built on unconditional love, friendship, guidance, and unwavering support. Through her love, wisdom, and creativity, she gave her daughter the tools to become the woman and mother she is today.
One of the greatest joys of Jeannett’s life was becoming a grandmother to her precious granddaughter, Rumi Yoakum. She waited so long for that title, and from the moment Rumi arrived, being “Grandma” became one of her greatest treasures. Jeannett spent her days loving, caring for, and cherishing Rumi with all of her heart. Their bond was pure, beautiful, and filled her life with immeasurable happiness.
Jeannett was also a deeply faithful and Godly woman whose faith never wavered. Even during illness, she remained committed to her relationship with God and her church, faithfully attending services at Harvest Church whenever she could and watching online when she could not. Her devotion was unwavering, and her faith touched everyone around her.
She was extraordinarily talented and creative. Jeannett found joy in baking, painting, cooking, gardening and creating beauty in everything she touched. Whether through a homemade meal, a thoughtful gesture, or simply her comforting presence, she made people feel deeply loved.
Jeannett was also deeply dedicated and hardworking, faithfully serving 39 years with Walmart. Her commitment, loyalty, and strong work ethic reflected the same care and dedication she carried into every aspect of her life.
Jeannett was the strongest person many knew, fighting courageously until the very end while continuing to give all she could to the people she loved most. Even during difficult times, she carried herself with grace, faith, strength, and unwavering love. She lived a beautiful and full life centered around family, creativity, kindness, and love.
She found joy in life’s simple beauties. Jeannett loved tending to her garden and caring for her plants, often spending peaceful time in her backyard surrounded by nature. She also loved the ocean and visited the beach often, where she found comfort, peace, and happiness.
More than anything, Jeannett loved her family. She loved hard, gave freely, and lived with compassion and warmth that touched everyone around her. Her vibrant spirit and beautiful soul left a lasting impact on everyone blessed enough to know her, and her legacy of love, faith, creativity, and strength will continue to live on forever.
Jeannett is survived by her loving husband, Frank Washington; her devoted daughter, Chanel Washington; her cherished granddaughter, Rumi Yoakum; her sister, Dora Sievers; her brothers, Leslie Williams, Gerald Williams, and Gabriel Williams; her two dogs Howard and Coco as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and other extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing her love will remain with us forever.
