Jeanne L. (schenck) Marggraf

August 18, 1940 — December 5, 2006

Jeanne L. (Schenck) Marggraf, age 66 of Methuen, died peacefully at her home, with her family by her side on Tuesday December 5th following a brief battle with cancer. She was born on August 18, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA. The daughter of Harry and Eleanor (Warfel) Schenck. She was raised and educated in Philadelphia, PA and graduated from Olney High School Class of 1958.

Jeanne was a homemaker who took great pride in her home, and in raising her three boys. She was blessed with many talents. She could sew like a professional seamstress, from clothing to pillows and drapery, and many of her custom tailored Halloween costumes are still passed down within her family. Jeanne will always be remembered for her special home cooked meals, her German Sauerbraten and dumpling recipe, and especially for her Philadelphia cheesecake, which was always a treat at holidays and special occasions. Above all else, her family was her world. Nothing meant more to her than having her family over for dinners, and spending time laughing and joking with them. She especially enjoyed her precious grandchildren, and even helped by watching some of them when her children were working. She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her sometimes "brutal" honesty, and especially for her smile and laughter, which would light up a room.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Paul E. Marggraf of Methuen. 3 sons; Richard E. of Newburyport, MA. Robert T. and his wife Paula of Dover, NH. And Jeffrey P. and his wife Ginny of Salem, NH. Sister Nancy Holt of Newton, NH. 7 grandchildren; Alyssa Marggraf of Manchester, NH. Matthew, Benjamin and Christopher Marggraf of Dover, NH. And Bradley, Gregory and William Marggraf of Salem, NH. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.
