Jaxon, a lifetime resident of Seal Beach, attended Marley’s pre-school in Sunset Beach, and J.H. McGaugh Elementary School. When Jaxon was 5 years old, he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. As devastating as this news was, Jaxon lived his life to the fullest, redefining resiliency while tackling numerous challenges with smiles, laughter, optimism, and true grit. Jaxon’s life may seem short to many, but his positive attitude and infectious smile touched lives across the globe, enjoying vacations with his family in Mammoth, Maui, Whistler, and Fiji. No other place on earth was Jaxon’s presence felt more than his beloved hometown of Seal Beach, where he participated in baseball, Friday Night Lights Flag Football, soccer, and jiujitsu. Whether on the baseball diamond, the pitch, the grid iron, the mat, in his classroom, or just walking around campus, Jaxon was an inspiration to us all and a reminder of the preciousness of life.
Jaxon is preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Elaine Gunlund, his grandmother Joyce Gunlund, and his beloved puppy dog Dexter William.
Jaxon will be dearly missed by his loving parents Melissa and Greg, adoring little brother Cooper, grandparents Chris and Janice Gunlund, grandparents Joe and Genelle Curiel, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
