Janet Qualm

Janet was born on May 5, 1939, in Dearborn, Michigan to Italian immigrants Josephine (Brusco) and Michael Signorelli. In 1947, her family moved to California. That move became the foundation of a life filled with love and family.

She grew up in Burbank attending Burbank High School, and was the second of four siblings—Dolores (1935-1997), Patricia (1943), and Michael (1953). Janet always carried a deep love for her roots and a special closeness with her family.

Janet met Keith Qualm. They were engaged in June and married on September 21, 1958 in Las Vegas. They raised five children—Kevin, Larry, Linda, Keith, and Dorothy. Being a mother was Janet’s greatest calling; her children were the center of her heart and her proudest joy.

Janet had a beautiful smile, an infectious laugh, and a spirit that brightened every room. She was known for her positive outlook and her natural warmth. She loved crafting and painting, and she especially enjoyed time spent with her lifelong Burbank girlfriends—laughing over lunch, sharing stories, and making memories. She LOVED the casino!

Above all, Janet loved being surrounded by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith E. Qualm, parents, Josephine and Michael Signorelli; her sister, Dolores Rizza Williams.

Janet is survived by her children: Kevin (Mattie), Larry (Jodi), Linda (Tony), Keith, and Dorothy (Cris). She leaves behind her nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her sweet dog Pinky.

Janet’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering love to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with tenderness and joy. Following the graveside memorial a luncheon will be hosted to honor her life.
