Haverhill, MA: Jane E. (Hall) Leonard, 75, of Haverhill since 2009 and a former longtime resident of Atkinson, NH for over twenty years, died on January 27, 2015 at Prescott House in North Andover, MA.
Born in Andover, MA, daughter of the late Russell and Grace (Russell) Hall, she graduated from Punchard High School with the class of 1959 and went on to attend Fisher Junior College. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern New Hampshire University.
Mrs. Leonard was first employed as a secretary at Textron in Wilmington, formerly Avco, and retired as a Program Coordinator after thirty-one years of service.
As a young woman, Mrs. Leonard was a member of West Parish Congregational Church in Andover. She was also a former Worthy Advisor of the Rainbow Girls Lawrence Assembly #15. She enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, and knitting and was known for the beautiful Afghans she made.
She was predeceased by her husband, John F. Leonard, and is survived her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Edith Horner of San Francisco, CA, a brother and sister-in-law, Frederick R. and Shirley Hall of Haverhill, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Alan Henderson of Andover, and Virginia and Chuck Dickens of Sioux City, IO, two grandsons, Paul Horner and William Horner, two aunts, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Leonard's Life Celebration on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 31 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will take place in the spring in Atkinson Cemetery.
