Jane Ying Huang passed away from natural causes on May 30, 2018 at her home at Atherton Baptist Homes in Alhambra, CA. Jane will be lovingly remembered by her husband of over 67 years, David H.T, Huang, her son David Thomas Huang, her daughter-in-law Violette Li Huang, her grandson Nicholas Tsung Huang, and her sister Wei Ying Wong. Jane was born in Shanghai and was the daughter of Thomas Woo and Sieu Lee. Jane's immediate family consisted of four sisters and two brothers. After graduating from McTyeire School which was an all girl's Methodist high school in Shanghai in 1945, she attended St. Johns University in Shanghai in 1946. Jane left China in 1947 to attend Wesleyan College in Macon, GA. In 1948, she attended Bryant College in Providence, RI. She worked for the Republic of China government as an assistant in the Permanent Office of the Chinese Delegation to the United Nations in New York City in 1949. Jane married David H.T. Huang on November 4, 1950 in New York City. While subsequently supporting her husband's career with various companies in the New York City and New Jersey metropolitan area including Reaction Motors Incorporated in New Jersey, she worked for the Meriden Daily Journal in 1952 and the General Cigar Company from 1952 to 1956. The Huang family moved to California in 1959 where David worked at the Rocketdyne Division of North American Aviation/Rockwell International until his retirement in 1980. Jane supported David in his post retirement consulting career in Taiwan until 1992. Jane's hobbies included traveling where she participated in numerous tours and cruises to Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and Antarctica and enjoying fine Chinese cuisine. A graveside memorial service will be held on June 16 at 2:00 PM at the Forest Lawn Glendale Memorial Park.
