Jim Sharpnack, 80, born on November 22, 1943, in York, NE, United States, to Harold and Betty Sharpnack, passed away August 09, 2024 with his family by his side. He resided in San Diego, CA at the time of his passing. He is predeceased by Daughter, Cynthia La Rue and Brother John Sharpnack. Jim is survived by his Daughter, Julia Farthing; Son, Sean Sharpnack; Granddaughters, Erica Konz, Ashley Becker, Rebecca Naung, Emma Sharpnack, Deana Carnaghi, and Sheana Carnaghi; Grandsons, Tyler Sharpnack, Bradley Farthing, Andre Rubio, Skylar Carnaghi, Jarred Carnaghi and Nicholas Carnaghi; Great Grandchildren, Ava Becker, Colton Becker and Rose Carnaghi; Brothers, Robert Sharpnack and Tom Sharpnack; Sisters, Barbara Watson and Judy Osborne. As the oldest of six he was a born leader with an unshakeable confidence. Jim was also known for being a practical joker. He graduated from Azusa High School in 1962, where he excelled in Track and Field. After graduation he joined the USMC, where Jim bravely served his country in Vietnam. Upon his return home, he started a thirty year Career with the Southern California Gas Company; soon after he started and raised his family in Southern California. Jim’s Career in Utilities later took him to North Carolina, with Peidmont Gas. He returned to California for retirement in 2014, where he enjoyed reuniting with friends, family and playing golf. Jim was known to be very athletic, intelligent, no-nonsense, with a good sense of humor. During Jim’s lifetime he lived all over the world: Nebraska, Ohio, Wyoming, Okinawa Japan, California, and North Carolina. Jim was loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed. Services are under the care of Forest Lawn, Covina Hills, CA.
