Danville, NH: James A. Scotti, 86, of Danville died on April 9, 2014 at his home.

Born, raised, and educated in Bronx, NY, son of the late James and Filomena (Palmieri) Scotti, he graduated from Bronx High School. Mr. Scotti served in the United States Navy as a Seaman 2nd Class during World War II and the Korean Conflict and was a recipient of the World War II Victory Medal. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked as a mail handler for the United States Postal Service at the South Boston Annex.

A member of St. Anne's Parish, he was also a member of the D.A.V. Mr. Scotti enjoyed reading the Boston Globe and studying history, especially European and American history, and the history of World Wars I and II.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Lucy (Barra) Scotti, two sons, Joseph J. Scotti and his wife Linda of Hampstead, NH, and James J. Scotti of Middleton, MA, a brother, Alphonse Scotti of Old Tappan, NJ, two grandchildren, Andrea Francoeur and her husband Brian, and Emily Scotti, and a great granddaughter, Annalise Francoeur.

Funeral services are private. Memorial donations may be made to the Rockingham V.N.A, 137 Epping Road, Exeter, NH 03833. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, NH.
