Jim grew up in Rugby, North Dakota, with four brothers and four sisters. At an early age, Jim lived with his dear Uncle Dave and did farming. In the early 40's he moved to California. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II as a tail gunner completing 35 missions over enemy territory. Jim was a true American in every way.
Jim was a hard worker and good provider for his family. He worked for the State of California in the Landscape Department for over 35 years. He was a giving man who didn't like being thanked or receiving anything back for his kindness. Jim was a loving husband and devoted to his children and his grandchildren. Jim was a friend to everyone he met and his smile was contagious. Jim and Lois enjoyed taking their trailer out camping many times over the years. One of their favorite camping places was Death Valley and June Lake in the high sierra's. Jim was a fisherman and also enjoyed hunting. He also enjoyed watching his grandkids and neighborhood children play in local sporting events.
Jim suffered from Alzheimer's for over 5 years.
