James Clinton Mccoy

July 15, 1968 — June 16, 2015

James Clinton McCoy, age 46, passed away peacefully at his home in Arcadia, on June 16, 2015, son of James and Jean McCoy. He was born in Glendale California and lived for much of his life in the Pasadena area. James was a loving and a attentive son, a father who always put his daughter first, the best brother, business partner and roommate a person could have. James worked in real estate for many years with his sister, Pam, and then after a significant change in the course of his life, he began to work with his brother, Shafter, in treating men and women seeking recovery from addiction. Deeply spiritual and committed to the Lord, yet earthy, often hilarious and always approachable, James was seen by all as truly an angel, always ready to help, no matter the hour or how far he had to travel. He was honest, accountable, generous, responsive, fair-minded, a mediator who truly listened and understood, a rock in the midst of chaos, a shelter for those in need, the big bear, the gentle giant, always ready with a hug. James was not afraid to say "I love you" to family, friends, and coworkers. James became the "heart" of Elijah's House, ensuring that everyone felt safe in a pristinely clean environment, with candles lit and the air fragrant. James lived a life of service and there will be no way to replace him. He would say, "We'll love you until you love yourself." Though he will be missed, he personified love and his spirit will live on. Everything James was reflects the love and trust shared by all the members of his family. James is survived by his mother Jean McCoy, daughter Jazmine McCoy, brothers Ronald Miller, Stephen Miller, and Shafter McCoy, sister Pamela McCoy- Carline, Nephew Baron Elijah, niece Sarai Olivia, and a host of family members. Services will be on Friday June 26, 2015, at 12 noon, at

on Forest Dr.
