James A. Mcclelland

James Allen McClelland, 69, of Palm Springs, Calif., passed away May 15, 2014, in Palm Springs, of lung cancer. Jim was born in Seattle, Wash., on August 8, 1944, to James and Eleanor McClelland. Jim married the love of his life, JoAnn (JoDee) Rogers on August 27, 1967 in Walla Walla, Wash. Together they had two beautiful daughters, and three adorable granddaughters. He served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970 as a Corporal. Jim spent much of his life working in the construction industry in Anchorage, Alaska. When it came time to retire, there was no doubt Jim and JoDee would end up near a golf course! In 1997, they moved to Palm Springs. This was truly Jim's "Happy Place". While he certainly loved to golf, socializing with friends was even more special to him. He is much loved and dearly missed and will always be remembered by all his friends and family. He is survived by his wife, JoDee McClelland of Palm Springs; his daughters, Mindee McClelland of Palm Desert, Calif., and Marcee Maroney of Portola Valley, Calif.; sister, Judy Larsen of Centennial, Colo.; and three granddaughters. A Memorial Service in his honor was held on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cathedral City, Calif. Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks & Mortuaries.
