Danville, NH: James D. "Jamie" Mayo, 49, of Danville, died unexpectedly on April 28, 2014 at Parkland Medical Center of natural causes and is now home with his Heavenly Father.

Born in Haverhill, MA and raised in Danville, NH, son of Robert E. Jr., and Carlene (Post) Mayo, he graduated from Timberlane Regional High School with the Class of 1982. He went on to serve in the United States Army and was honorably discharged with the rank of Specialist 4th Class. He was the recipient of the Army Good Conduct Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Sharpshooter Badge, and the Driver and Mechanic Badge.

Mr. Mayo worked most recently as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Busby Construction since 2007. He was previously employed by Dad 'n the Boys Grading and Paving for many years.

A member of the Deep Hole Ice Fishing Club, he attended Danville Baptist Church. He enjoyed attending stock car races at Lee Raceway and woodworking. He was a devoted son and father and most enjoyed spending time with his grandson, who called him "Papa".

He is survived his parents Robert E. Jr. and Carlene (Post) Mayo of Danville, his two sons, James D. Mayo, Jr., and his fiancé Sabrina Cerasuolo of Danville, and Zachary R. Mayo of Sandown, NH and his future wife, Melissa Schneider, a daughter, Angela M. Mayo of Danville, his life partner, Laurie Painten of Danville, a brother and sister-in-law, Robert E. III and Deborah Mayo of Raymond, NH, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Tamela A. and Gardner Johnson of Danville, and Pamela S. and Thomas Johnson of Kingston, NH, his grandson, Jordan J. Boucher, his former wife and mother of his children, Corinne (McGilvray) Mayo, also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home followed by the rendering of military honors by the United States Army. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, Florida 32256.
