With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our brother, James Madison Bennett, on December 24, 2024. Born on January 20, 1962, Jim was known for his kind and generous heart as well as for his wild and independent spirit. He could be a serious man one moment and the next, goofy with a mischievous smile. Jim was adventurous, brave, and smart. He played several musical instruments; loved the outdoors and hiking; played chess; learned to fly a plane; loved animals; and lived an authentic life. He was a son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
His parents, John A. Bennett, Sr. and Erlinda Rios, preceded him in death. He is survived by his siblings: John A. Bennett, Jr.; Christina D. Bennett; Georgina Bennett Carrillo; Jessica C. Rideout; Freddy Amesquita; Rafael Amesquita; nieces and nephews; many cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Forest Lawn Covina Hills, Church of Our Heritage on February 22, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. with a graveside service immediately following.
