James K. & Evelyn Cager

James K. Cager, 93, of Palm Springs, Calif passed away April 13, 2016. Evelyn Murrell Cager, 86 of Palm Springs, Calif. passed away April 15, 2016. She was born March 21, 1930, to Roosevelt and Maggie Murrell in Forest, Mississippi. He was born September 11, 1922, to Edgar and Ophelia Cager in Mississippi. James Cager married Evelyn Murrell in January of 1951 in Union, Mississippi. He was a construction worker with Wessman Construction for over 20 years and she was a department manager assistant at JC Penney's for over 20 years. Both James and Evelyn were members of Ajalon Missionary Baptist Church. They are survived by grandsons; James Nsubuga of Cathedral City, Calif.; Koseya Nsubuga of La Quinta, Calif., Dani Nsubuga Sr. of Cathedral City, Ralph Chatman of Desert Hot Springs, Calif. and 16 great-grandchildren. Evelyn and James were preceded in death by their daughter Leslie Nsubuga. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am April 22, 2016 with a funeral service at 11:00 am at Ajalon Baptist Church, 433 W. Tramview Road, Palm Springs, California 92262. Interment will follow at Desert Memorial Park, Cathedral City, California 92234.
