Jaime “Jim” Guzman, 67, born on April 29, 1957, in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, and raised from infancy in Southern California, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025. At the time of his passing, he was a proud resident of Long Beach, CA—a city he faithfully served for over 20 years in General Maintenance with the City of Long Beach. A true craftsman, Jim was a master welder whose hands could shape metal with remarkable precision and artistry.
Jim was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Amparo Guzman. Together, they celebrated 41 beautiful years of marriage on February 27—a love rooted in unwavering support, deep respect, and endless affection. He was a proud father to four children: his firstborn Gabriel, followed by Jimmy Jr., Joe, and his only daughter, Priscilla, whom he adored beyond measure. His family was his greatest joy and the heart of his life.
Jim was known not only for his hard work and skill, but for his kindness, wisdom, and quiet strength. He was deeply loved and respected by all who had the privilege to know him. Though he is no longer with us, the lessons he taught and the love he gave live on in those he touched.
He fought bravely until the end, but when God saw he was weary, He gently called him home. Jim may be gone from our sight, but he will never be forgotten. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
