Jack Edwin Day, 75, was born on September 4, 1936, in Selma, AL. He passed away on May 4, 2012. He resided in Palm Springs, CA at the time of his passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cathedral City, CA.

Jack Edwin Day, of Palm Springs, passed away at his home in Palm Springs on May 4th, 2012 with his partner of 10 years Dennis Montanez at his side. Born in Selma, Alabama on Sept. 4,1936. Jack as a child lived in 16 towns and attended 18 schools before joining the Air Force at the age of 17. After the military service Jack moved to So. California and married Barbara Jo Howell in 1957 and had one daughter, Tamara Kudebeh. After a divorce Jack met John Liddicote in 1959 and they lived as a loving committed couple for 35 years until John's passing in 1994. Jack and John worked for the Sante Fe Railroad for over 30 years before retiring together and moving to Oklahoma where they started and raised over 60 Emu's. Many remember the large dinner parties Jack cooked in their home in Silverlake, the numerous Christmas' spent with Mil Stone "Doc" of Gunsmoke or the soon to be famous "Palm Springs Barbeque Sauce" which he made by the vat full. Jack retired a second time to the Palm Springs area in 1995 where he made many friends around the pool tables in the gay community and the lively poker game he hosted for 8 years. Jack's other passion was travelling throughout Europe, The Holy Lands, Egypt, Bangkok, and Mexico. Jack was preceeded in death by his parents Herman Day Sr. and Nolie Brown, his brother Herman Day Jr. Jack is survived by his sister Anne Greenwald, brother David Day, daughter Tami Kudebeh, grandsons Brian Milan and Jared Doke, 5 great-grandchildren, 3 stepsons and 6 step-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on May 10,2012 at 7:00p.m. at Forest Lawn in Cathedral City, California.
