Jack Edward Cooper

October 13, 1929 — December 10, 2013

Jack was born in Long Beach, California, son of Archie and Anna; and brother to Bernice, Bill and Gene. Jack grew up and attended school in Long Beach, California and went on to proudly serve in the National Guard. Jack was deeply patriotic and had many interests from US history to music, classic films and sports. An avid sports fan and sports memorabilia collector, he was devoted to following the Los Angeles Lakers as well as boxing and golf.

Jack met his future wife Emma Lou marrying in 1954, together they shared 60 years of happy marriage. Jack and Emma Lou raised their family of 4 children; daughter Teri and sons Bill, Bob and Brad in the Lakewood, California area, moving later to Lake Havasu, Arizona to become local small business owners, running a neighborhood market.

In 1994 Jack and Emma Lou moved to Palm Desert, California in which they would eventually retire some years later. They spent these years enjoying the desert lifestyle, golfing, traveling and spending time with family & friends. Jack ended his career as a highly successful independent sales representative for Smith Cooper International in 2010. Not only was Jack a great success professionally, he was well-liked and highly regarded for his never ending enthusiasm, making many of his strongest friendships along the way. That was our Jack, affectionately known to all as "JC".

Jack is survived on this date, December 10, 2013 by his wife of 60 years, Emma Lou; their 4 children Teri, Bill, Bob and Brad (and their respective spouses) and his brother Gene (spouse, Chris). In addition, he is survived by 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and numerous nephews, nieces, family and lifelong friends who lovingly remember Jack as one who enjoyed life, was full of good humor and had a kind reassuring nature. Always loyal and full of encouragement, Jack is remembered fondly as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
