Isaias Macaraeg Sarmiento

Isaias Sarmiento, Sr., 82, of Rancho Cucamonga, California, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Virginia Cayton Sarmiento for 57 years. Isaias was born in Ineangan, Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines, and he was the son of the late Gavino and Lucrecia (Macaraeg) Sarmiento. Isaias worked for the City of Los Angeles as a Civil Engineering Associate for over 24 years. Along with his wife, he is survived by his six children: Reynold Sarmiento with wife Marieflor; Ederlyn Sarmiento; Emily Becker with husband Anthony; John Sarmiento with wife Lorna; Elma Peacock with husband David; and Isaias Sarmiento, Jr. Isaias also had 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was an ardent member of the religion Iglesia Ni Cristo, and he served as a church deacon for many years. Visitation will take place at Forest Lawn - Covina Hills, Memory Chapel, 21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina, California 91724, on Monday, November 7th, from 5:00PM to 9:00PM. Graveside service will take place on Tuesday, November 8th, at 11:30AM. Graveside information will be available at the Information Booth.
