Irene Canales

Irene Canales, 57, of Palm Springs,  CA, passed away on March 1, 2024 after a short illness.
Irene was born on March 1st in 1967 in Fresno California. She was the third child born to Joe and Lydia Reyes, and had four sisters, Angie, Gloria, Rachel, and Star. Her childhood was filled with laughter and sibling rivalry. 
Irene went to Palm Springs High School and graduated in 1985. After graduation Irene started her career at Palm Springs Public Library as a Lead Librarian Assistant in the Youth Room.  After 21 years, Irene sought a change in career and went to work for the Boys and Girls Club of Palm Springs. She later went to work for Palm Springs School District at Raymond Cree Jr. High. Then transferred to her alma mater of Palm Springs High School. 
Soon after high school, Irene met Raymond Canales and they married and had two children, Marissa and Stephen.
Irene loved acting in local community plays. Irene especially love being around all her grandchildren and nieces and nephews, watching them grow up.
Irene is preceded in death by her mother, Lydia Reyes.  She is survived by her father, Joe Reyes and four sisters, Angie Navarro (Jim) of Dayton, WY, Gloria Reyes-Black (Marcus), Rachel Reyes and Star Hutchinson (Terry), all of Cathedral City, CA.  Her daughter Marissa Ashley Canales and son, Stephen Paul Canales (Jessica Scott). Eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
